Dagmar Johnson MA joined the practice in August 2006. Originally from Prague, she moved to the area with her husband Ian back in 1990. Before joining the team she ran a Bed & Breakfast and self-catering business.
Her initial qualifications are in modern languages; English & Russian which she gained at the Charles University of Prague in 1977. She worked as a translator, interpreter and conference organiser through an agency where she was instrumental behind the development of the conference organising service team. She continued in the same line of work after moving to England.
After moving to the area she became involved with the local government as a parish clerk for her village which she did for 18 years. She has been an active member of the Kendal Mountain Rescue team for 18 years, serving as Equipment Officer and Chairman. Currently she is one of the team directors. As well as a hill walker, Dagmar is a keen motorcyclist, cyclist and cross country skier and has a particular interest in the history of the WWI and WW2. She still contributes articles from her visits to the WWI battlefields to the Czech military historical magazine “Kaleidoskop”.
